About Into Storymode
Into Storymode is an initiative exploring how games and interactive technology can become a medium for storytelling, reflection, and meaningful human experience.
We believe games and technology can do more than entertain. They can create spaces where lived experiences are expressed, perspectives are shared, and stories are not only told, but explored through interaction.
Into Storymode began with a desire to shift how games and technology are understood: not only as tools for excitement, novelty, or spectacle, but as creative media that can hold meaning, care, and human complexity.
Today, our work takes shape in several connected ways.
Events and conversations
Into Storymode hosts talks, gatherings, and public conversations around storytelling in games and interactive media. Through sessions like Playable Stories, we want to create space for designers, artists, writers, and curious audiences to reflect on how stories become playable.
Learning and practice
We also teach and share approaches for transforming stories into games and interactive experiences. This includes methods, workshops, and future resources intended to support both developers and non-developers who want to explore interactive storytelling.
Tools and emerging technology
Into Storymode is interested in how new technologies can support storytelling practice. This includes experimentation with AI-assisted workflows, narrative systems, and future tools that may help people organise, shape, and develop stories in new ways.
Creative work and collaboration
Alongside its public-facing work, Into Storymode also operates as a creative practice that can take on commissions and collaborations in games and interactive experience design.
At its core, Into Storymode is about bringing storytelling, interaction, and technology into closer conversation — and opening up more ways for people to create meaningful experiences through play.
